Our mission
Understify helps small teams review contracts without a legal department. It reads a contract, lists what needs attention, and quotes the passage behind each finding when it can find one, so you can check the finding yourself.
Findings are proposals for you to review, not legal advice. For a decision with legal consequences, ask a qualified lawyer.

Understify started with a simple observation: AI contract tools are hard to trust when you cannot see where an answer came from. We set out to build review that shows its source, and says plainly when it has none.

Security and privacy
Here is what protects your data and review records today. The Security page gives the dated status of each item.
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest (provider-managed AES-256); not end-to-end
- Cloud storage with database backups run by our database provider
- Data access, export and deletion requests handled under UK GDPR; no certification claimed
- Independent penetration testing planned, not yet completed
- Role-based access control and authentication (optional MFA with an authenticator app, required for administrators)
